Should I leave my heating on 24/7?: It is strongly advised to not keep your heating on 24/7 to save energy. However, keeping your heating on is a personal preference and depends on the type of heating system. It is recommended to use a room stat and timer to allow superior control over the time and temperature settings.
What is the most energy efficient heating system?: Electric radiators and infrared panels are the most efficient form of electric heating because both use radiant heat to maintain room temperatures.
Where should radiators be positioned?: The location is entirely up to you, most radiators are effective enough to heat the space regardless of where they are installed. However, radiators are typically placed at the room's coldest area, either against an exterior wall or under a window. This helps to prevent draughts and cold patches, and because the wall space under a window isn't usually useable owing to space constraints, it's a suitable place to put your radiator.
Why is my heating system cold at the top and hot at the bottom?: This is frequently caused by trapped air at the radiator's top. The air should be released, and the problem should be resolved after bleeding the radiator. If this doesn't work, we recommend having your central heating system inspected by an electrician to rule out any underlying system issues.
